MUSIC AT ASHREYNU
Music is an essential element driving the heartbeat of Ashreynu. The kinor, or lyrical lyre, in Ashreyu’s logo conjures the melodies and the deep musical tradition of Judaism, from Torah and Temple times to this very day. Ashreynu features music in our services, drawing from ancient nusach and traditional tunes to the most contemporary, from Chasidic to Israeli, from Judaic adaptations of secular songs to original compositions.
All this we creatively and lovingly bring to life through our voices and instruments at Ashreynu and Shirat Yona, as we appreciatively recall, relive, and expand the mellifluous musical traditions of our people.
We sing together during services, after services, in person, and online. We also love to bring Jewish music to our wider neighborhood, with concerts at local parks and bars.
